Unit improvement goals

Re-look at the timelines with which I teach these things; I want to work in more time for practice versions of each writing style / activity, and then more writing time with reviewing later on.
I also want to make sure that all of my surveys for pre- and post-writing are right on, will measure what I want them to, and are electronic and automatically tallied.

Leadership post

Excerpts:
The relational model of leadership views leadership as residing not in individuals, but in the spaces among individuals.  Although school administrators play a vital role in these efforts, teachers are uniquely positioned to contribute special assets to the school leadership mix in each of the three areas.
They are motivated by a desire to help students and support their fellow teachers, not to enforce a new policy or to evaluate others' competencies. Other teachers can go to teacher leaders without fear of judgment or dismissal. Their conversations can be frank, authentic, and caring.

It makes sense to have leaders that are seen as accessible instead of on a pillar of crazy altitudes, lofty and disengaged from those that are doing the real work.

I, as well as Drew, am a co-advisor for the WHS Student Council, so we are fulfilling this role by letting students have some autonomy, but also guiding them into doing the best that they can.

I think that a point of growth for us could be re-defining our purpose every year and making sure that students know that we are trying to serve not only the High School but our community at large!

Here's the motivational Poster for students to keep in mind:

Enduring Understandings:

As we get older we are all told that we matter less and less often, and that is a bummer.
She said that she can change a culture of a school. I wonder if that is true...
"The web is a lifestream" - I'm not sure if I'm ready to make that assertion, personally.
A call to action can be the thing that matters to a school.

ROL Goals

I'm going to add some more specifics as to what good and bad examples are as far as commenting on student writing goes. BLAMMO.
